I'm Rhea Pearse, and I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a huge first significant step. It is with deep respect and humility that I offer to walk alongside you on your healing journey, moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My practice is founded on the powerful belief that your past experiences, no matter how challenging, do not have to dictate who become, or what you can achieve. I am passionate about empowering individuals to unlock their full potential, and healing from trauma can be a key to that transformation. I am here to provide the compassionate support you need to navigate difficult emotions and experiences, whether that involves acceptance or change.
With over eight years of dedicated service and experience at a rape crisis centre, supporting women who have endured the profound impact of historic rape and sexual abuse, I have developed a deep understanding of trauma-informed care. Prior to this, I supported unpaid carers, gaining valuable insight into the challenges of long-term emotional strain. I am also a recently qualified counselling supervisor, offering both individual and group supervision. As a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am committed to ongoing professional development, ensuring my practice is informed by the latest research.
In my private practice, I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and life challenges with trust. My goal is to empower you to cultivate self-understanding and acceptance, to find a sense of safety within yourself, and ultimately, to move towards profound healing. My person-centred approach, incorporating empathy, active listening, and a deep respect for your unique lived experience, is at the heart of my practice. I also offer inner child therapy, recognising the impact of early experiences. My work is fundamentally trauma-informed, acknowledging the far-reaching effects of trauma on your well-being. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey built on trust and open communication, and I am dedicated to creating a warm and supportive space where you will always feel heard and valued. I specialise in working with adults navigating the aftermath of traumatic events, including survivors of sexual violence, rape, childhood abuse, complex PTSD, and issues affecting women.
