I'm a fully qualified counsellor with 12 years of experience, with the last eight years specialising in supporting survivors of rape and historical sexual abuse. I deeply understand the long-lasting impact that trauma can have on your physical, emotional, and social development, and my approach is fundamentally trauma-informed. This means I work with compassion and care, prioritising your safety and healing at every step working at your own pace. I work using the three stage trauma recovery model and also offer inner child therapy.
My practice is also person-centred, emphasising empathy, active listening, and a profound respect for your individual journey. I can incorporate inner child work to help address earlier experiences.
I believe therapy is a partnership built on trust and open communication, and I am dedicated to creating a warm, supportive, safe space where you will always feel heard and valued. I offer support to adults navigating the aftermath of various traumatic events, including sexual violence, rape, childhood abuse, complex PTSD, and issues which affect women. I also work with people struggling with anxiety and depression.
As a qualified supervisor, I am passionate about supporting those who dedicate themselves to caring for others. My journey to supervision is underpinned by over six years of experience as a Counselling Lead for a charity, where I was responsible for managing and supporting a team of counsellors. This prior role has given me valuable insight into the specific challenges and rewards of helping professions.
I offer individual and group clinical supervision to counsellors, counsellors in training, and other care professionals, providing a safe space to explore the impact of their work and enhance their skills. I believe that well-supported practitioners are better equipped to provide effective and rewarding care. Please contact me via email for enquiries.
